My cats are unfazed by catnip.

I am disappointed.

Maybe this means there's no higher number on the crazy dial.

lol... so the tape trick isn't just from my sadistic yet cat-loving friends, good. i love seeing cats shaking their paws as they walk; they look like they're dancing the jitterbug.

the funniest thing i ever saw was actually kinda mean -- a friend lopped off one side of kitty's whiskers but left the other side intact. she walked around lopsided (hanging her head to one side) and she wouldn't enter any confined space that she couldn't feel with her cut-off whiskers ;)

and hey, none of my cats have ever reacted to catnip, either. i think the catnip purveyors have set up a system where people usually feel too embarassed to admit their cat doesn't like it/react to it, so the secret never gets out and catnip still remains a viable commodity. (that, or it could be the lack of coffee talking.)

jesum crow..

i found out about the tape thing when i was untaping my bass for the dozenth time trying to fix the recurring short & the cat decided all that loopy stuff was a toy. it was emotionally confusing to watch.

Oh I know about tape... one of the furkids found a discarded sticky sheet from the fur removal roller. All I saw at first was the girl cat streaking around the house, from room to room. Finally saw through the blur enough to make out that something was on her paw, and she was running around and around, alternately flapping the paw and running.

Then she comes out of the bedroom, tape free. But I hear a commotion in there now. Boy cat has the tape on his back, right at the base of his tail, but just out of the immediate reach of his reaching teeth. So he's spinning in frantic circles trying to get to the tape, around and around and aroundaroundaround. And when I'd try to reach for the tape to get it for him, he'd launch off running away from me.

Emotionally confusing, yes :) I was laughing yet felt bad that they were in distress.

Catnip bubbles. Really.

They've got better staying power than your average kid's bubble wands, AND smell of catnip. Might have more luck with those.
