Okay, better late than never, I did get a few things done tonight. Cleaned the kitchen, did all the dished, scrubbed the stovetops, counters, and floor. Did all the non-automated bills I had waiting in a stack. Started sorting some of the miscellaneous paperwork I have laying around. I think if I work on cleaning up the rest of my apartment, which I've been gradually working on, I'll feel a bit better about some things. Let a lot of things go around here, and after awhile, it just really gets to me that I'm living alternately as a neat freak and a bachelor slob. It goes in about 2 week cycles-- 2 weeks all clean and neat, 2 weeks of crap strewn everywhere for the kitties to play with.

Someday, I'd like my place to look neat, clean, and maybe ditch the dorm-room sense of style. But, I doubt I'll actually conquer this bachelor thing until I'm actually living with a girl or something. Not that the girl would clean everything, but I'd actually feel motiviated to keep a place nice for someone else... is that pitiful, or what? :)

You shouldn't count on living in sin as a cleaning agent. Baby jesus cries every time two people move in together without being married.

In my case, he's been pouting for some time.

You'd be surprised how much your place will tidy up once you've got a woman living there. It's not that you dress them up in maids outfits and tell them to "get srcubbin!" or anything. For some reason you just feel inclined to pick up after yourself.

Well...I lived with a boy for over three years. He was mostly clean, but I don't think it was for my benefit. If that would have been the case he would have done the damn dishes at least more than once a year!
If you feel more "inclined" to pick up after yourself when a live-in-girlie is watching it's probably just some mating ritual instinct you've inherited from your male ancestors.
Pick up socks=get laid

Not really. It's based more on the idea of accomodating someone other than yourself. If I pick up after myself, my house is cleaner. If my house is cleaner, then my girlfriend is happier with the living situation. If that's the case, then everybody wins.

It's never been about sex or anything like that.

Oh...as for male ancestors, I was raised by four women who were very big into the process of keeping our house clean. To me it sounds like you've been burned and are somehow taking on the entire male population. That, or the "boy" that you lived with was a real asshole. I don't see any reason to be a fem-warrior.

Ha. You are very sensitive. I liked living with the boy. Everything I said was a joke. The male ancestor comment was about evolution, not your daddy.
As for being a fem-warrior, I might try that. Sounds like fun. Do I get to wear big boots?

only of you can locate some of those shoulder-pads with the big spikes on them.
I'm sure you could get everything at a GWAR garage sale. God knows those guys aren't doing anything with their careeres.

You'll be needing a horse, flame thrower, "anti-penis" flag, viking helmet, battle-axe, and a goat skin bikini as well. At least that's what FEM-WARRIORS in Indianapolis look like.

Wow! That's a lot of work!
Well, I'm vegan so I don't feel right about doing my warrior duties on horseback or while wearing a goat skin bikini. I can't wave an anti-penis flag. That goes against my other beliefs ;)

Well, if you like "the penis" in a general way, then you'd be against being against them. Or..maybe FOR being against them in a different way...if you know what i mean. har har har
Now, don't write back and say I'm objectifying men! I'm pro-penis and pro-boy brain and pro-everything else. Especially if they clean the house!

See: Chasing Amy (http://www.fortunecity.com/lavender/eastwood/425/chasing_amy3.html).

Banky: What?d I tell you - she just needs the right guy. All every woman really wants - be it mother, senator, nun - is some serious deep-dicking...

That?s why I can?t buy lesbians. Everyone needs dick. See, I can buy fags. Bunch of guys that need dick - just plain need it? That I get. Dykes? Bullshit posturing. But - live and let live, I guess.

Isn't it funny how all of this started with Les saying he'd clean the house more if he had a better reason to clean it? It ended with me calling myself pro-penis. What a world.
"I'd clean my house more if a girl was in it."
"Oh, yeah? Laura likes dick."
How awful. And I even made fun of jesus.
I'm going to hell.
ha.

Wow.. I didn't realize horseriding was non-Vegan. You guys really are hardcore-- I'll probably never get past vegetarian purgatory. :)

As for fem-warriors, I finally saw the last episode of Xena this weekend. Yeah, stupid, cheesy pop culture fem-warrior... but she's dead. Like dead-dead, ghosty girl following Gabrielle around. And no coming back, because if she does, she pisses off like 40,000 spirits she released to rest in peace when she died. Weird.

But if you're going to be a fem-warrior, and you ever sing the national anthem, just make sure your patriotic swimsuit is on securely.

I'm wearing some girlie combat-looking boots today. That's about as fem-warrior as my attire gets. No fur. No leather or metal bikinis.
So, Xena died, huh? Does that mean that show is finally off the air?

Well... They're done making the show, but there're plenty of episodes built up to keep it on the air in re-runs for the next few decades. I'm sure some channel somewhere will get it in their heads to have a special "See Xena from the beginning!!!" run of it.

Why does this effect not seem to have occured with my ex? In my case, the baby jesus was not crying, he was throwing fits and obscene gestures.

And the place was awful. I cleaned, he trashed, rinse, repeat. So I stopped cleaning anything other than my room in the townhouse, and on the odd day, he'd do the dishes, and when he did, he'd SLAM everything around making the point that he was doing the dishes. And then he'd tell everyone I was a slob.

I'm much happier knowing it's my mess now, and not someone else's.

Yes. I guess you are right! I guess when I thought of tantrum I thought of whining. I don't think he'd whine. Just scowl a baby scowl.
